Membership at the institutional level entitles the institution to apply for SEWSA mini-grants up to $500.00. In addition, two students at the institution will have their SEWSA membership fee waived for one calendar year. Rates are effective January 1, 2008.

Mini-grants available to institutional members:

Institutions within the Southeastern region may apply for mini-grants to support activities which further the mission of their program and the organization. Special consideration will be given to events with speakers/scholars from the region. Awards up to $500 per grant will be made. Only two grants per year will be awarded. The deadline for applications is September 1st so that proposals can be read prior to discussion and vote at the Executive Committee’s midyear meeting (which is usually mid-September or early October). Award-winning events will be featured on the SEWSA website. SEWSA is to be credited as sponsor of the event, with a statement to acknowledge that the Southeastern Women’s Studies Association (SEWSA) has sponsored or co-sponsored the event.

Applications should include a formal request to the president of SEWSA in the form of a single page description of the event stating why the organization needs funding and how SEWSA will be acknowledged. SEWSA’s archives should receive a copy of relevant publicity as should the Communication Officer for posting on the organization’s website.
